Nina H. Black

Nina Hendrick Black, 90, of Elberton passed away Tuesday, October 11 at Spring Valley Health Care Center. Mrs. Black was born in Madison County and was a seamstress and a member of Elberton Christian Church. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Iris Jones of Charlotte, NC, Sara Pless of Elberton, and Jarrell Jones of Madison County; two sisters, Polly Parham of Comer, and Edna Tawney of Elberton; one brother, Carl Hendrick of New Ellington, SC; grandchildren Lisa Almond, Lynn Dove, Michael Pless, Keith Jones, Kevin Jones, and Jennifer Savino, seven great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 14 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Brown oficiating. Burial will follow in the family lot of the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetary in Madison County. The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Lisa Almond, 1827 Shallow Creek Road Lot 13, Elberton and her sister, Edna Tawney, 1425 Athens Highway, Elberton and will recieve friends from 6:00-8:00 Thursday night at Berry Funeral Home.
