Briarwood Academy, a college preparatory school located between Thomson and Warrenton, is pleased to announce that registration for the 2012-2013 school year is now open to the public. Briarwood is a small independent school that stresses values, citizenship, and achievement through its academics, literary, sports, and extra-curricular activities. Also for parent convenience, Briarwood runs a commuting bus between Washington and school for over 45 students. City of Washington Community Ooutreach Services Day
City of Washington Community Outreach Day is Saturday, May 12 from Noon until 3:00 at the Pope Conference Center on Lexington Avenue in Washington. Blood Drive Thursday May 17th in Washington
Mark your calendars for a Replacement Blood Drive that will be held on May
17 in honor of 10 year old WWES student CJ Rogers. The drive is being held
to help replace blood that CJ is being given when he needs blood
transfusions after his chemotherapy treatments. The Blood Mobile will be at
Wills Memorial Hospital from 9-1, Berry Plastics at 1:00, and then Shepard
Blood Center Staff will be set up at the Methodist Church from 2-7. Please
come and show your support and give your blood. One donation will save
three lives! You will begin to see flyers around town and Shepard Blood
Center is going to make ½ page flyers to go home with all of the students at
WWES in hopes that their parents would also like to give.

5th Annual TJ & Friends Golf Tournament
The 5th Annual TJ & Friends Golf Tournament will be Friday, April 27th at Arrowhead Pointe Golf Club at Richard B. Russell State Park. Registration is at 8:00 and a shotgn start at 9:00, 2 man teams in a Texas Lauderdale with an entry fee of $130 per team. 2012 Wilkes County Relay For Life Survivor Dinner
The 2012 Relay For Life of Wilkes County planning committee, along with the American Cancer Society would like to invite all cancer survivors in Wilkes County to the 2012 Survivor Dinner to be held on Thursday, April 26th at Third Shiloh Center in Washington. Each survivor is welcome to bring one caregiver with them as well. The dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:00 and will include food, fellowship, and entertainment. All cancer survivors in Wilkes County are invited to attend the dinner where they will also recieve their survivor t-shirts. Survivors are also invited to kick-off the opening lap of the 2012 Relay For Life of Wilkes County at 1:00 on Saturday, May 5th. Wilkes Ministers United is sponsoring the National Day of Prayer service on the Square in Downtown Washington. The service will begin at Noon on May 3rd.

The Washington First United Methodist Church will have a BBQ on Saturday, April 28th. The BBQ will include a half of a chicken with all the fixins! Tickets may be purchased at the church or from any church member.
First United Methodist Church Choir Concert
The Washington First United Methodist Church will host a choir concert on Friday, April 27th at 7:00. The choir from Trinity On the Hill United Methodist Church in Augusta will be performing in the Fellowship Hall.
