Wilkes Ministers United will host an Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on the Square in Downtown Washington beginning at 7:00am Easter Sunday Morning April 8th.

Wilkes Ministers United will host Lenten Lunches each day during Holy Week. There will be a church service beginning at Noon followed by lunch each day.

The Washington-Wilkes tiger Club Memorial Golf Tournament will be Saturday, May 5th at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club with a 1:00 shotgun start. A Calcutta will be Friday, May 4th at 7:00. The format for the tournament is a 3 man scramble, handicaped using 40% of the team average. Men will play from the white and blue tees, women will play from the red tees. There will be gross score and net score winnersand the entry fee is $50 per player which includes lunch and 1 mulligan. Lincoln County Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament will be May 12th with a 1:00 shotgun start at Rocky Branch Golf Course. The format will be a 4 man scramble, 18 handicap max per person with a $200 per person entry fee. A calcutta will be held on May 11th at Rocky Branch Clubhouse. Cruise In On The Square in Historic Washington on May 12 from 6:00-9:00. Open to Antiques, Hot Rods, Trucks and Motorcycles. $10 registration fee and there will be food, prizes, fun for the whole family and also Tommy Landrum’s Cruzin to the Oldies!

The Washington Little Theater Company will present its Spring production March 30th and 31st at 7:30 and April 1st at 3:00 at the Bolton Lunceford Playhouse. “Washington History Live”, directed by Phil Rothman will feature a historic vignette about Varina and Jefferson Davis and a narrative about the lost Confederate Gold from the perspective of a Confederate soldier. Libby Foster will direct the musical comedy “Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway” featuring the Washington-Wilkes Tiger Performing Arts Team. The Sanctuary Church of God will hold a Hotcake Supper on Tuesday, March 20th from 5:30 until 7:00. Tickets are $5.00 for all the hotcakes you can eat, one sausage and a drink. Tickets can be purchased the night of the event or ahead of time from any member of the Sanctuary of God.

Nathanael Greene Academy’s Spring Musical will be “Willy Wonka” will be held Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th at 7:00 each night in the school’s gymnasium. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $10.00. Don’t miss this annual springtime event!

Wilkes County 4-H Club is currently accepting applications for summer camp to Rock Eagle 4-H Center. This particular camp is for all fourth, fifth and six grade students. Cost for camp is $300 which includes transportation, meals, lodging, insurance, educational workshops and crafts. A deposit of $90 is due at the time of application with the balance due by June 1.
